Grace & Peace to you from God our Father and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
My name is Ben Hitzfeld. I am married to my college sweetheart, Rebekah, and a proud father of our daughter Eliana Marie.
I have had a passion to be a pastor ever since I was a young kid preaching to my stuffed animals. I graduated from Manhattan Christian College (Manhattan, Kansas) in 2009 with a B.S. in Bible/Pastoral Ministry, and completed my Masters of Divinity through Wesley Seminary at Indiana Wesleyan University in May 2015. I am a 14 year veteran of the Army Reserves and currently serving as a Chaplain in the Army Reserves.
Ben and Rebekah grew up in Kansas, met in Bible College, and lived in Indiana for 3 1/2 years while serving at Darlington Christian Church before moving to Bastrop, TX. Ben has deep Texas roots (Fredericksburg) and is excited to be reconnected to the Hitzfeld "motherland".
Ben is a mediocre fantasy football competitor, coffeee connoisseur, a bit OCD, loves to wear plaid shirts, has perfected the art of procrastination, should not be trusted to be alone with a hammer or any power tools and HATES mushrooms. Seriously.
Rebekah not only graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Bible at Manhattan Christian College, but also finished a B.S. in Interior Design at Kansas State Univeristy (GO WILDCATS!) with Magna Cum Laude honors. Rebekah loves her new job, working at Studio SixFive, an interior design firm in Austin. She LOVES to read, and is learning to sew. She is involved in the local MOPS (Mother's of Pre-schoolers) and MOMS groups and she teaches a sign-language and worship class at the church every Thursday at 6:30pm
The Hitzfeld's favorite part about ministry is the relationships. And relationships are what Bastrop Christian Church does best. So we invite you to dive right in to "know and be known" so that we can be disciples together!
Grace & Peace,
My name is Brittney Morrell and I have been a follower of Christ since I was 17. I’ve had a passion to be in the ministry as soon as I became a Christian and I have been leading students ever since I have graduated high school in 2008. I grew up in a small town right outside of Beaumont, Tx and I was the only child till I was 10 years old. Now I have a brother who is 15 and a sister who is 8. Eventually I moved to San Marcos and graduated this year with a B.A. in psychology and a minor in sociology at Texas State University.
I love backpacking, hiking, camping, swimming, hunting, fishing, gardening, and four-wheelers. Literally, I love anything that has to do with being outdoors. I have a German Shepherd named Marley who I adopted this past December, she definitely keeps me on my toes. I’m a HUGE Spurs fan and a Dallas Cowboys fan, thanks to my dad who allowed me to be the cheerleader during the games. I’ve also been a Red Sox fan ever since I attended a game in Fenway Park and witnessed The Green Monster. I also enjoy reading books and playing games on my XBOX ONE. I absolutely love sweet tea and any kind of food EXCEPT a Chinese buffet.
Recently, God’s leading has guided me to Bastrop and I currently live in Rosanky. Needless to say I am overflowing with excitement to live in the country and I will be taking full advantage of the opportunity with a chicken coop, green house, and all the hunting and fishing my heart desires.
I’ve been told countless times that I am a child at heart and I believe that’s what draws me towards students. I love to bring the best out of them and to encourage them to take this world on alongside our Savior.
"Let all that I am praise the Lord; May I never forget the good things he does for me."
